The Cricket-Stats.com Team of the Seires for the Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 2012 Test Series
This team is selected using performance statsistics. The team is the best XI based on a combined rating which comes from their stats (Ie Average, Number of Runs/wickets, Number of 100s/5 fors etc).
As this is a Test side the openers are considered to be different to the rest of the batting lineup. This means the best 2 openers will be in the side - even if they are not in the top 6 rated batsmen. If there are more than 2 openers in the top 6 rated batsmen then the best two will 'open' for the team of the series with the other batting in positions 3-6.
A specialist wicket keeper is chosen and this is based on the number of dismissals they have made. If the best wicket keeper is also in the top 6 batsmen then he will be chosen to keep and the 7th rated batsman will come into the lineup.
